Thanks to support from charity givers, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has launched a project for the construction of a student dormitory in Adıyaman which will host 96 students. The project aims to meet students’ need for an accommodation as well as making contribution to their education life.
The to-be-constructed student dormitory will be named after Fahri Yaldız who was martyred in the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara. The student dormitory will have a basement, first, second, third floor in addition to a roof floor.
There will be gyms, two arts studios, a masjid, a storage room, a heating center, a janitor room, WCs, change rooms, showers and a water-tank with a fountain in the basement floor of the building. There will be a tea shop, cafeteria, meeting rooms, administration rooms (manager’s room, deputy manager’s room, secretary room, information desk and a security room) and a waiting room in the entrance floor of the building.
There will be 12 rooms, laundry, infirmary, chatting area, WCs and bathrooms in the first floor, there will be 12 rooms, a laundry, instructors’ room, a conversation room, WCs and bathrooms in the second floor, there will be a dining hall, 3 study rooms, 3 cellars, a conversation room and WCs in the third floor. There will be a seminar room, a green room, a library and a terrace in the roof floor.
The dormitory rooms have been designed to accommodate four students at most in line with the international standards. The dormitory building will not only provide an accommodation to the students but it will provide them with activities that will help their socialization.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS AND DURATION
The project is expected to be finalized within a year after the collection of the necessary funds. The project will be prepared and carried out by the IHH.
THE COST OF THE PROJECT
The cost of the student dormitory project which will be built on a land of 4.304 square-meters is 800.000 euros while the cost of the furnishing materials to be used in the building is 250.000 euros. Except for the land value, the total cost of the student dormitory is 1.05 million euros.
